It's over!

Nog maar net op de markt of Activision staat al klaar met de verklaring dat ze de stekker uit DJ Hero (en Guitar Hero) trekken. Reden voor het stoppen van het Hero gaming project is het feit dat de verkoop van muziek games over de hele linie in een wereldwijde dip is geraakt.

Ondanks dat bekende DJ’s, zoals Deadmau5, David Guetta, Daft Punk, Tiesto en DJ Shadow, hun naam aan de game verbonden hadden heeft DJ Hero (2) het niet gered dus.

Officiële verklaring en FAQ van Activision:

Does this mean you’re no longer making Guitar (and/or DJ) Hero games?
Over the past two years, we have seen rapid declines in the music genre, and unfortunately, based on current demand, we simply cannot continue to profitably make these games given the considerable licensing and manufacturing costs.

Does this mean you’re no longer selling Guitar (and/or DJ) Hero games?  Will I still be able to buy one?
We will continue to sell and support our catalogue of Guitar Hero and DJ Hero titles including Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and DJ Hero 2, which were released this past holiday season.

Are you still going to make new DLC for Guitar/DJ Hero?
We will release the previously announced DLC track and mix packs for February, but – unfortunately – we will not be able to release new DLC packs beyond what we already have.

Are you still going to sell DLC for the Guitar/DJ Hero games that are already out?
Yes, we will continue to sell and support the DLC track and mix packs that have already been released for Guitar Hero and DJ Hero games.

Are you still going to support/provide customer service for Guitar/DJ Hero?
Yes, we will continue to provide customer support for all of our previously released Guitar Hero and DJ Hero games.  If you are experiencing issues with your game, please contact Customer Support.
